How To Take Desloratadine

Desloratadine can be taken with or without food. Take it exactly as directed. Desloratadine RediTabs should be placed on the tongue, where they dissolve quickly. Take the RediTabs immediately after removing them from the blister pack.

If You Forget A Dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Never take 2 doses at the same time.

In Case of Overdose

Little is known about the effects of a Desloratadine overdose. However, any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Symptoms of Desloratadine overdose may include:

• Rapid heartbeat
• Sleepiness

Do not increase the dose of Desloratadine or take it more than once a day. Higher doses have no additional effect on hay fever symptoms and may cause drowsiness.

The chewable tablet form of Amoxil contains phenylalanine. If you have the hereditary disease phenylketonuria this form of Amoxil should not be used.

Desloratadine is not approved for children under 12.

The possibility that Desloratadine could harm a developing baby has not been completely ruled out, and the drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

Desloratadine makes its way into breast milk. You'll need to choose between nursing or continuing to use the drug.

Side Effects

Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Desloratadine.

More common side effects may include:

• Dry mouth
• Fatigue
• Sleepiness
• Sore Throat

No significant interactions have been reported.
